How Does Propel PBM Prioritize Traffic?

The Propel PBM software uses a complex algorithm to assign a priority to each inbound or outbound data packet accessing your Internet connection from your PC.  This priority is determined by many factors, including the packet's:
- Associated application
- Size
- Port utilized for transit
- Protocol employed

When multiple applications compete for limited bandwidth, Propel PBM determines the order in which applications on the PC can send out packets and receive packets, all based upon the priority assigned to each packet.

The logic and rules the PBM software employs are complicated and would be difficult to construct and maintain yourself, especially as the behavior and mix of PC programs requiring Internet access is constantly changing.  With Propel PBM, these prioritization rules are automatically applied to all incoming and outgoing traffic.
