Collecting and Reporting Error Information

If you experience a problem using Propel PBM, please consult the online FAQ page or the readme.txt file that is included with the product. If you need further assistance, please email us at pbm-support@propel.com. To help us in diagnosing the problem, attach to your email the following log files:Note: The exact location of log files could vary depending upon your operating system version and settings.

1. Propel PBM log files: PBM*.log
If Propel PBM does not function properly, these files may contain important information regarding errors that might have occurred.

The PBM log files are stored in

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Propel\Logs

Note: by default, the Application Data folder is hidden. In order to see a hidden folder, open the Control Panel and double-click on the Folder Options icon. Then click on the View tab and select the "Show hidden files and folder" option.

2. Propel PBM installation logs: dneca.log and dneinst.log

If you experience problems during installation, then sending dneca.log, dneinst.log, and their corresponding backup files would help our engineers in identifying the underlying issue. These files are stored in
C:\WINDOWS\Temp

3. Small memory dump files: Mini*.dmp

If Windows restarts unexpectedly, it is useful to collect the minidump files from the following (default) directory:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

4. Dr. Watson files: drwtsn32.log and user.dmp

If the software crashes, there is a possibility that both a log file and a memory dump file were created by the Dr. Watson Windows program and placed in the following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson

5. PBM Policy files: PolicyInfo.xml

If Propel PBM does not function properly, it is possible that out-of-date or incorrect PBM policy files are saved on your PC. To determine if this is the case, please attach to your email the PolicyInfo.xml file, which lists what policies are saved on your PC.

The file is stored in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Propel\PBM
